Lonk Sheep
LONK SHEEP
A big and hardy type of sheep reared on the moorlands of Yorkshire and Lancashire and is the largest of the mountain sheep. They give a fleece of fairly long wool and with the fibres fairly elastic and strong. The wool is mostly used for worsted cloths. The weight of fleece averages 6-lb., spinning quality 28's.
